Robert "Bob" E. Redfern (73) passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024 with his family lovingly by his side. He was born March 1,1951 in Streator, Illinois, the son of Evelyn D. Redfern(Martin) and Everett J. Redfern.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Mars. Following his service to our country he became a lifelong farmer in rural Streator, retiring in 2022.
Bob was a private and quiet person full of integrity and morals. He was independent and hard working, yet simple and non materialistic. He loved cars, motorcycles, Gunsmoke and his family.
Bob is survived and missed so deeply by his daughters Erin(Eric) Redfern-Andrews and Laura Redfern, his grandchildren: Ian, Alie, Ava and Arlie, great grandchild: Jayce and close friend Mary Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a great grandchild.
In typical Bob fashion,per his wishes, there will be no formal services. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
As we say "see you later" to our dad and papa, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will remain a guiding light for his family, his friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Foundation.
