Sandra A. Michael, 72, of Streator passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family burial will be in Odell Cemetery at a later date. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Born November 22, 1949 in Pontiac she was the daughter of Donald and Elizabeth (Wade) Harlan Jr. She married Glenn A. Michael on March 29, 1965 in Streator.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Michael of Streator; daughters, Tina Michael of Streator and Cathy Michael of Streator; a son, Anthony "Tony" (Carrie) Michael of Streator; grandchildren, Andrew Michael, Izayah Michael, Elyjah Michael, Troy Michael, John Freeman, Antonio "A.J." Melton Jr. and Lily Michael; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kinsley, Hailey and Carson Freeman; siblings, Donald "Butch" (Rita) Harlan Jr. of Streator, Ronnie Harlan of Streator, Louis (Judy) Harlan of Wenona, David (Diane) Harlan of Streator, Michael Harlan of Streator and James (Sandy) Harlan of Streator; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Hobert and Mary (Krantz) Harland by whom she was raised; and a sister in infancy.
Sandy lived in Chicago and Pontiac before settling in Streator at a young age.
She worked through the years for Thatcher's Glass Factory until its closure. She later worked with her husband in the family business, Michael's recycling. She also helped care for her grandchildren through the years.
On November 26, 2021 our family lost one of the strongest women ever known. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many. She was caring, stubborn and feisty but above all she was loving. Although she is physically gone she will always be with us. She made family a priority and in doing so the memories we have will live forever. She will be missed so much but never forgotten.
