Susan C. (Blair) Mattingly, 80, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at her daughter's home in Rochelle, Illinois.
Susan was born on August 30, 1941 to W. Harold and Eliza Lou (Followay) Blair in Raywick, Kentucky.
Susan spent the majority of her golden years volunteering and helping the less fortunate. She never knew a stranger, and had a kind smile for everyone she met. "Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories." She will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Mattingly in 2004; son, Gerald Lee Mattingly in 2005; father, W. Harold in 1986; mother, Eliza Lou in 1999 of Raywick, KY; brothers: W. Milton (Leola) in 2021 and James Chelion (Mary Ann) in 1984 of Lebanon, KY.
Susan is survived by her siblings: Wanda Lou (Sherman) Skaggs of Hodgensville, KY, and Carrie Etta 'Sissy', Terry Dale, Joseph Ronald, and Sylvia Jean all of Raywick, KY; son, Martin John Mattingly of Hammond, IN and daughter, Sandra J. Hess of Rochelle, IL; grandchildren: Cynthia Schaefer, Dawn Chalmers, Valerie Edwards, and Kyler Mattingly, Breannah Matelli and Michael Gardner, and great-grandchildren: Landon, Lorelei, Erin, Sean, Riley, Brody, Emily, Jackson, Wyatt, Kenleigh, Dylan, Mason, and Logan.
