Timothy L. Foutch, 72, of St. Joseph died at 1:48 a.m. Sunday (March 12, 2023) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will not be held. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, is in charge of arrangements.
Tim was born on Jan. 18, 1951, in Ottawa, a son of Lester and Audra Mann Foutch. He married Wendy L. Anderson on July 9, 1977, in Marseilles. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ben and wife, Angela, Foutch of St. Joseph; two brothers, twin, Jim and wife, Linda, Foutch and Doug and wife, Joyce, Foutch, all of Sebring, Fla.; three nieces, Laura Foutch of Montgomery, Alison (Tanner) of Peoria and Jenna (Adam) Spencer of Morton; a nephew, Dan (Teresa) Foutch of Mahomet; his sisters-in-law, Sherry Lowderbaugh of Apple Valley, Minn., Nona Anderson of Ottawa and Renee McDonald of Missoula, Mont.; and nieces-in-law, Kim Lowderbaugh and Kris Pelton of Apple Valley, Minn., Laurie (Mark) Budnick, Lynde (Curtis Posey) Downey, all of Ottawa, and Jen (Jake) Qualls of Lake Stevens, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Mr. Foutch attended Marseilles schools, graduating from Marseilles High School in 1969. He attended UIUC for one year.
He loved sports, starting very young practicing his baseball, softball skills. He was active in 12-inch fast pitch softball leagues, and was inducted into Illinois Valley Baseball Old Timers Hall of Fame. He bowled in many leagues and tournaments, traveling to Reno, Buffalo, Cincinnati and many towns in northern Illinois. He especially enjoyed competing with brother Jim in many of those. He also bowled in mixed leagues with Wendy. He was a member of Marseilles Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He participated one year in Norway, Ill. Olympic games. He was a fan of Cubs Baseball and UI Sports.
Tim was able to enjoy living on the beach in Oahu for six months. He worked at Snap-on Tools, Ottawa, and was a laborer with Labor Local 393 in Marseilles for many years. While living in Champaign he was a Realtor and had served in the professional standards committee for Champaign County Board of Realtors, was a salesperson for Cotter Glass, auditor for E&M Consultants, night auditor for Chancellor, LaQuinta Inns and delivered for Rogards. He was a bartender and cooked fish on Fridays at Esquire Lounge for many years. His last job was at Heartland Library Systems delivering books to a large area of schools and libraries, until his health declined and lost most of his sight.
He enjoyed all kinds of music, listening almost daily, especially classic rock, jazz, and later enjoying classic country. He attended many concerts over the years. He loved animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed trying all kinds of food. His favorite snacks were popcorn, vanilla ice cream and popsicles.
Tim loved our Lord and Savior and was brought up in the Methodist faith, was a member of Marseilles United Methodist Church, and attended Faith United Methodist Church while living in Champaign. He loved his family with all his might and to the end was trying to help us. He was generous and liked helping others. He shared with us his wisdom, quick wit and sharp tongue, his daily sense of humor and 'wittyisms' as he would say, and singing and saying little ditties he would make up.
