Died: November 12, 2021
Timothy J. Wright, 70, of Streator passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at O.S.F. St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Born August 15, 1951 in Streator he was the son of Robert and Esther (French) Wright. He married Patricia McLaughlin on August 2, 1975 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wright of Streator; a daughter, Heather (Jerry) Dennis of Streator; sons, Stephen (Amy) Wright of Ankeny, Iowa and Michael (Tracy) Wright of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Kylie Dennis, Zoey Smith and Ava Smith; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Wright of Streator; many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Wendy Boik.
Born and raised in Streator he attended Streator Grade Schools and Graduated from Streator High School. He attended Illinois Valley Community College in the School of Nursing. He became the only male nurse in LaSalle County at the time.
He moved to Arizona for 4 years and worked as a medical and geriatric nurse for Scottsdale Memorial Hospital and Mesa Lutheran Hospital. He later worked for St. Mary's Hospital in Streator as a Registered Nurse. He was also the Outpatient Surgical Coordinator for 11 years at St. Mary's. He retired from Silver Cross Hospital in New Lennox in 2018.
He was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. Through the years he was active with Christ Renews His Parish Retreats and served as a Sacristan and also coordinated the music for the retreats.
Tim loved to cook, hunt for and collect fossils and rocks. He also appreciated art and loved animals of all kinds but especially his cats.
Memorials may be directed to The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Guardian Angel Outreach and St. Michael the Archangel School.

I worked with Tim at Silver Cross hospital. We were the day nurses. He gave such quality care and was a great coworker always encouraging and helpful. So very sorry for your loss.
