Died: April 9, 2025 in Joliet, IL
William Joseph Polancic, 71 of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Nicolas Wilson of Ottawa Catholic Parishes, officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home.
William was born on March 26, 1954 in Ottawa to William and Betty (Dilley) Polancic. William received his BA in accounting from St. Ambrose University and his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. He was a CPA accountant and later worked for the family's business, Polancic's Meats and Tenderloins. William was an avid golfer, scuba diver, and enjoyed spending time on the beach in Siesta Key, FL.
He is survived by his parents; two daughters, Ally Polancic of Los Angeles, CA and Jacki (Ryan) Sheahen of Chicago, IL; one granddaughter, Sloane Sheahen; two brothers Jimmy Polancic and Kevin (Julie) Polancic, both of Ottawa; niece Erica (Rob) Newinski; great nephews, Aiden and Ethan Newinski; and cousin Bobby (Julie) Polancic.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bill was a wonderful co-worker in the Montgomery Ward Treasury Dept in the 80's. He was a bright young man with a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He will always be fondly remembered.
