James "Bo" Danny Abercrombie passed away peacefully at his home in Morganton, Georgia, on October 9, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born in Copperhill, Tennessee, and later made his home in Morganton, Georgia.
Bo will be remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Loretta Abercrombie, and as a loving father to his three sons, Daniel, Chris, and Jessie Abercrombie. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby (Eula Mae) Abercrombie; sister, Kathy (Carrol) Smith; mother-in-law, Lois Elrod; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Bo was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Goldie Thomas, and his brother, Randy Abercombie.
Throughout his life, Bo was known for his unwavering kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His joyful spirit and his love for the outdoors were evident in his enjoyment of walking and mechanical work, joy, and friendship to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In honor of his life and legacy, a funeral service will be held on October 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home- Blue Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Harold Crowder officiating. Interment will take place in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Georgia. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Monkus, Traven Monkus, Nate Anderson, Carrol Smith, Jacob Abercrombie, and Bobby Abercrombie. The following will serve as honorary pallbearers: Jeff Chastain, David Baldwin, Jim Elrod, Mark Kincaid, Bill Wilson, and Melvin Elrod.
Family will recieve friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home - Blue Ridge Chapel on October 12, 2025, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
