Aaron O'Neal Mixon passed from this world on November 13, 2024. He was born on March 30, 1999. Aaron is the son of Kevin and Gina Mixon of Springfield, LA. He is the cherished brother of Ryan Williams, his wife Lila, and with his brother Ethan Mixon. Aaron adored his baby niece Margot Elizabeth Williams. He leaves behind his only friend and beloved pet labrador, Piper, along with two pet cats. Aaron is survived by his maternal grandparents Charles and Donna McLin of Ponchatoula, LA. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents Herman and Sharon Mixon of Broom, Mississippi. He leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Aaron was employed as a LSU graduate assistant and was pursuing his masters degree in Environmental Coastal Engineering. He was a gifted cook and had a spectacularly brilliant mind. Aaron cherished all creatures, wildlife, and being in nature. He was an avid fisherman with many hours spent floating the northern Tangipahoa River with his father. He was devoted to feeding the flock of native birds around our home and those just passing through. Aaron was a quiet, gentle soul with a heart of gold. He was the best of us and his ever-present quiet presence will be missed by all of his family. He loved his family immensely and although our grief is profound it is a comfort to know he is at peace after the many years of living with depression.
Brandon Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond is coordinating the arrangements. A private gravesite service will be held November 25, 2024 at Springfield Cemetery. Aaron loved flowers, thus flowers are welcome or please make a donation in memorial to any animal shelter. Also, please hang a bird feeder for the birds in memory of Aaron.
Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
