Abby Fogarty, 78, of St. Petersburg, FL died on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at The Maples in Frankfort, MI. She was born August 26, 1946, in Evanston, IL to John and Sara Fogarty.
Abby attended primary and secondary school in Evanston, IL, before studying English Literature at Beloit College in Wisconsin. She later earned a Master's in Management from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. Her career was in marketing, and she spent many years working for Amway Corporation in Grand Rapids. Following her retirement, she lived on Beaver Island, then in Elberta, MI, and most recently in St. Petersburg, FL.
Abby had an outgoing, trusting, and cheerful personality and a grit to meet life's challenges. She was a helpful daughter and sister with family members dealing with chronic illnesses. Abby was a skier, making yearly trips to Utah. She also enjoyed sailing in Michigan and Florida. She had her mother's sense of humor and creative talent. Abby enjoyed painting and remained active with a studio in St. Petersburg and entered her work in art shows occasionally.
Abby was preceded in death by her sister Jonna and survived by Jonna's children, Heather Russell and Rob Russell. Abby is also survived by her loving partner, Jim Clapp; and her brother, Robert, and his children Jean Covey and Mike Fogarty.
Abby was cremated. Donations can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.
