Abel Carrasco

Abel Homer Carrasco, 77, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Chico, CA. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Chico Cemetery.
Abel was born on June 26, 1948, in Emly City, MI and was the second of six children. The family lived in Emly City before moving to Los Angeles when he was a young boy.
Abel joined the United States Marine Corp in 1968 as a truck driver. He transferred to the Marine Reserves in 1970 before being honorably discharged in 1974. A few years later, he moved his family to Chico, CA. After the U.S. Marines, Abel continued long haul driving before continuing his education. He became a Drug and Alcohol counselor, working for the Salvation Army until 1995. After his time as a counselor, he returned to long haul driving where he became a trainer until his retirement in 2005.
Abel had a passion for long haul driving and enjoyed the different scenery throughout the United States.
Abel was preceded in death by his parents Antonio Carrasco Gonzales and Victoria Martinez and one brother, Ruben Carrasco.
Abel is survived by his daughter Stacey, son Gerardo, grandchildren Joseph, Lucas, and Aiden, great grandchildren Andrew, Amelia, and Alivia. He is also survived by his siblings Moses, Delilah, Nepo, and John as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
