Abel Trevino Nieto, a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 29, 1961, in Dilley, Texas, and from an early age, he exhibited a warmth and kindness that influenced all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Abel found joy in the simple pleasures of life, deeply valuing the time spent with family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria C. Nieto, along with their three children: Kimberly Perez (Jose), Michael Nieto (Sierra), and Abel Nieto Jr. (Robin). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Jose III, Alliana, Corey, Christiana, MJ, Matteus, Kailani, Kyree, and Cameron, each of whom brought him endless joy and pride.
Abel was not only a loving husband and father but also a supportive son to his mother, Elena Trevino Nieto. He shared a deep bond with his siblings: Ricky Nieto (Yolanda), Nancy Nieto, Cindy Nieto, John Nieto (Jessica), Isaac Nieto, Delmi Nieto, and Mattie Gauna (Sergio), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was predeceased by his father, Juan C. Nieto, his grandfather, Pedro Nieto, and his uncle, Pete Nieto. Their memories will be kept alive in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A visitation will be held at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Pearsall on November 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, followed by interment at Pearsall Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
As we honor Abel's life, we remember the light he brought into our lives and the many ways he touched the hearts of those around him. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
