Abelardo "Abel" Carrillo was called home to the Lord on July 20, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born to Jose M. Carrillo and Theodora Carrillo on March 9, 1955, in Seguin, Texas.
Abel was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, he enjoyed watching football on Sunday's and having fishing days on the water, hunting, and cooking. He loved listening to tejano and spanish music. Then, there was his laugh, who could ever forget his laugh.
Abel was so proud of his two sons, Jason and Adrian, as well as his grandchildren. He loved them dearly.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Teodora Carrillo and Jose M. Carrillo; his brothers, Julian Carrillo, Eleazar Carrillo, Miguel Carrillo, Joe Carrillo, Jesse Carrillo and sister, Bertha Miranda.
Abel is survived by his two sons, Jason Carrillo (Christina) and Adrian Carrillo; brothers, Nicholas Carrillo (Velma), Joe G. Carrillo, sisters, Mary Pierce (Martin), Dora Luera and Janie Calderon (Steve). He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be led by Deacon Nick Carrillo at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass will be offered on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. All services will conclude at the church and a private burial of cremated remains will be scheduled for a later date.
