Abundio Leon Obituary
A devoted husband for 62 years, he is survived by his beloved wife, Margarita Cantu De Leon of Harlingen, and their five children: Raquel De Leon of Corpus Christi, Irasema Salazar (Juan) of Harlingen, Anna Margarita Cruz (Alejandro) of Fort Worth, Santiago De Leon (Adriana) of Harlingen, and Hilario De Leon (Aracely) of Edinburg.
Abundio's legacy continues through his sixteen grandchildren: Brenda Farrow, Brisaida Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzalez, Jahaziel Cruz, Adrian Cruz, Abisai Cruz, Aileen Cruz, Brianna Yamilex De Leon, Kayla Ariana Fernandez, Santiago De Leon, Jr., Jadrien Leonel De Leon, Davida Giselle De Leon, Dalary De Leon, Hillari Priscilla De Leon, Laryssa Giselle De Leon, and Hilario De Leon, Jr., as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Miyah, Maddy, Mason, Adin, Viviana, Marielle Ivy, Adelin Rae, Alaina, Alejandro, Jr., Isaac, Kai Arian, and Santiago Sai.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Abundio De Leon III; his daughter, Maricela De Leon; and two grandchildren, Hilario De Leon and Abundio "Yuyito" De Leon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:00 PM, at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, departing the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a 10:00 AM service at Templo Ebenezer AD, located at 996 Turner St., San Benito, Texas. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Santiago De Leon, Jr., Jadrien De Leon, Santiago De Leon, Sr., Hilario De Leon, Jahaziel Cruz, Adrian Cruz, and Abisai Cruz.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
Abundio De León, Jr., nacido el 28 de julio de 1939, en Los Ramones, Nuevo León, México, hijo de Abundio De León y Manuela Garza, entró pacíficamente en descanso el 13 de junio de 2025, a la edad de 85 años en Harlingen, Texas, rodeado de su amada familia.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres; su hijo, Abundio De León III; su hija, Maricela De León; y dos nietos, Hilario De León y Abundio "Yuyito" De León.
El velatorio se llevará a cabo el martes 17 de junio de 2025, de 1:00pm a 9:00 pm, con un servicio de oración a las 6:00 pm, en la Capilla de la Paz Rudy Garza en Harlingen. El funeral se llevará a cabo el miércoles 18 de junio de 2025, saliendo de la funeraria a las 9:15 am para el servicio a las 10:00 am en el Templo Ebenezer AD, ubicado en 996 Turner St., San Benito, Texas. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Parque Memorial Mont Meta en San Benito, Texas.
Es un honor servir como portadores del féretro: Santiago De León, Jr., Jadrien De León, Santiago De León, Sr., Hilario De León, Jahaziel Cruz, Adrián Cruz y Abisai Cruz.
