Ada was preceded in death by her husband, George Aistrop; an infant child; her parents, William and Hassie (Locke) Hawkins and her siblings.
Ada is survived by several members of extended family.
Family members and friends may gather on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 11:00-11:30am at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, Va. to honor Ada.
Graveside services will follow at 12:00noon at Glencoe Cemetery Mausoleum with Lowell "Cotton" Gardner ministering.
Gilliam Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to care for Ada Ruth Aistrop.

I remember she used to always say "well I'll swan!'. And I would tease her by saying it again . And ask her what it meant, she would say honey I don't know, it's just a old timey saying! And we would laugh! Them were the days!!!

Whenever I came to visit, she always had to make sure I was fed. At first she would always make something but in latter years it was going to KFC. Love you and will miss you. Wish I would have found the time to come down and visit.
