Ada Conway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home - Mount Vernon on Mar. 28, 2026.
Ada Nan Conway, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully into heaven on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 3:20 p.m.

She was born on December 3, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Dr. Jesse and Dr. Ada Rabourn. Nan spent her childhood growing up in both Oklahoma and Texas, where she developed the strong values, compassion, and warmth that would define her life.

Nan was one of six children and loved her brothers, Ira, Frank, Jimmie, and Jesse, and her sister, Judi. Her family was an important foundation in her life, shaping her deep sense of love and connection with others. She will be greatly missed by her surviving brother, Jesse.

On April 15, 1972, Nan married Wayne Conway. Together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, and partnership. Going into their marriage, Nan had three daughters, Janet, Sue, and Cherri. Wayne had four children, Wanda, Dale, Bruce, and Marjorie. Together, their family grew into a legacy that includes 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was also deeply loved by her nieces and nephews.

Nan was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon since 1972 and was actively involved both in her church and throughout the community in many roles. She had a heart for people and mentored many young individuals over the years, always sharing her faith in the Lord and offering encouragement, wisdom, and love.

Today, we find comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in heaven with her parents, four siblings, two grandchildren, and many other loved ones who have gone before her. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her warm, beautiful smile.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the church. Burial will follow at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown, Missouri.
