Ada Mae Yoder Eash was born October 27, 1926, in Hydro, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alva and Mattie (Bender) Swartzendruber. She attended school in Oklahoma. Later in life she received her GED at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa. Ada Mae was united in marriage to Delmar Yoder in 1949. They had four children. In 1950 they founded Home Gas, Inc. Delmar died in a plane crash in 1972. Ada Mae continued operating Home Gas and remained devoted to her family.
In 1990 Ada Mae married Maynard Eash. They enjoyed travelling and wintering in Texas. In 2008 Maynard passed away following a short illness.
She loved quilting, golfing, bowling, playing cards and socializing with friends and was known for her cinnamon rolls and peach pie.
Ada Mae died Monday, September 22, 2025, at Highland Ridge Center in Williamsburg, Iowa at the age of 98 years. We are grateful for the genuine kindness and professional care that she received in these last years of her life.
She is survived by her four children: Roberta (Ernie) Kandel of Denver, CO, Suzanne Yoder (Mike Moser) of Oklahoma City, OK, Karla Mabarak of Wellman and Kevin (Lori) Yoder of Wellman; six grandchildren: Nicole KandeLind (Steve) of Denver CO, Mackenzie Kemp (Joshua) of Midland TX, Aisha Mabarak (Steve) of New York City, NY, Stefan Mabarak (Monica) of Mexico City, MX, Hanna McDowell (Tim) of Keota IA, Drew Yoder of North Liberty, IA; seven great grandchildren: Lydia and Gina KandeLind; Walker and Michael Kemp; Erika, Alyssa and Brett McDowell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her brother Glenn Swartzendruber.
Funeral services and burial were on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the West Union Mennonite Church near Parnell. A memorial fund has been established for Goodwin Dining Center in Wellman. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com
