Ada M. (Hill) Eaton passed from this earth to be with her heavenly father on December 7, 2022. She was born on June 1, 1930 to the late Homer Hill and Annie (Young) Hill. She married her beloved husband Gilbert H. Eaton on March 11, 1950. He entered heaven on December 22, 1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Sharp and husband Randy of Dallastown, and Rose Houser and husband Alan of Red Lion. Two Grandsons, Andy Sharp (Kristen) and Aaron Houser (Calyssa) along with six great grandsons. She is survived by one sister, Lettie Grove of York and one sister in-law, Shirley Hill of Lewisberry. Her sisters, Bettie Baughman and Fannie DeGroft and brother, Samuel Hill are deceased. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She lived in Windsor for over 50 years until she moved to Red Lion. She was very outgoing and always wanted to help others and did so in many ways. She cleaned homes until she was 78 years old. She worked for the York County Election Board in Windsor from 1987 until the spring of 2016. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Windsor for over 50 years and served in many capacities there until she transferred her membership to Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown. There she was a very dedicated member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and helped in ways that she was still able to. She was also a member and officer of the Windsor Golden Agers for many years. She also served in many capacities with Windsor Fire Company, Laurel No. 1 for over 60 years.
Her celebration of life service will be held at Burg Funeral Home, 134 West Broadway, Red Lion on Thursday, December 15 with her former pastor, Rev. Roger H. Mentzler, officiating. The service will begin at 10:00 am with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The family is wearing red to the service to honor her, we would welcome you to join us.
In lieu of flowers Ada desired donations be made in her name to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 East Main Street, Dallastown, Attention: Prayer Shawl Ministry or The Kevin Butler Memorial Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 303, Lewisberry, PA 17339.
