Ada Partridge Obituary

Ada Juanita "Nita" Myers Partridge, 87, of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2025.
Born July 10, 1938, in Salem, Missouri, to Marvin and Lillie Myers, she was the cherished baby of the family with four older brothers-Earl, Marvin, Ken, and Lee-who doted on her and teased her relentlessly. The family moved to Cut Bank, Montana, where Nita attended elementary school, then returned to Kansas City, Missouri, for her junior high and high school years. When her brothers headed west and settled in Salt Lake City, Nita and her parents followed during her late teens.
In Salt Lake, Nita worked at a clothing store. One day, she ventured next door to the grocery store and met a handsome young man working there. She always joked that she found her husband in the walk-in dairy case at Safeway. Art and Nita dated, spending many evenings at drive-in movies. They quickly fell in love and married about six months later on August 22, 1958, in Elko, Nevada, later celebrating with a reception in Salt Lake City.
The couple spent most of their early married years in Taylorsville, Utah, where they raised four children: Ron, Michelle, Mike, and Vicki. Nita was an excellent homemaker who loved staying home to raise her children.
When her oldest son left on an LDS mission, Nita spoke at his farewell as a non-member. This experience sparked her conversion, and she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1976 the family moved to Bountiful. The following year, Nita and Art were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Nita served faithfully in various callings, including multiple times in the Relief Society Presidency and as Young Women's President. She was a dedicated visiting teacher and ministering sister.
After her children were raised, Nita worked at Walker Bank before joining her husband and son in the family business, Progressive Management Services, Inc. When Art retired in 1992, they moved to St. George. Nita worked as a receptionist at Les Olson Company for many years before retiring in 2000.
Nita's number one passion was her family-nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with those she loved. She was also an avid reader, loved listening to music-particularly country, with George Strait being a favorite-and was known as a wonderful cook. Her biscuits and gravy became a beloved family tradition that will be remembered for generations.
Nita loved to travel and explored the world with Art, both for his work and in retirement. They cherished cruising and traveling together, often accompanied by their children, grandchildren, and dear friends.
Nita's greatest joy in life was the beautiful love story she shared with her sweetheart, Art. Their marriage became a shining example of devotion, partnership, and enduring love. Together, they created a legacy of unconditional love that extended to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, teaching each generation to love one another with the same warmth and acceptance.
Nita is survived by her husband, Arthur Lyman Partridge, Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Verla Christensen, Linda Myers, and Ina Allred; and her beloved children: Ron (Marie) of Kaysville, UT; Michelle (Paul) Christensen of Vernal, UT; Mike of Las Vegas, NV; and Vicki of Aliso Viejo, CA; 8 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lillie Myers; her four older brothers; two grandsons, Ronald and Nathan; and countless family members and friends. We can only imagine the glorious reunion she experienced on the other side of the veil with those she loved who went before her.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Southgate 2nd Ward Chapel, 1068 West Chandler Drive, St. George, UT 84770.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Bountiful, UT Cemetery.
