Ada Kathleen Smith

Ada Kathleen Smith, 89, of Franklinville, passed away on February 21, 2026 at her home.

Ada was born on October 20, 1934. She proudly served in the United States Navy and worked for many years as a nurse. Ada enjoyed traveling and loved spending time outdoors. She could often be seen walking the streets of Franklinville with her dog, Daisy. Ada enjoyed reading and served as a a committee member with the Franklinville Library and was a major advocate for the building of a new library. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Chamberlain Baitsholts; husband, Lee Smith; stepmother, Katherine Baitsholts; and siblings, Julia Nooney, Eileen Thompson, and John R. "Jack" Baitsholts.

Ms. Smith is survived by her brother Paul J. Baitsholts; special friend, Bettina Busmire; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Less officiating.
