Deborah Leigh Cole

Deborah Leigh "Debbie" Burgess Cole, 64, passed away on February 15, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Deborah was born on March 05, 1961 in NC to parents Terry and Cathrine Byrd Burgess.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11 AM in the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryant Madren, officiating. Burial will follow at Parks Crossroads Christian Church cemetery.

Debbie was a 1979 graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School and worked for several years as an upholsterer at March Furniture in Ramseur. In recent years, she worked with her family on their poultry farm. Debbie had a tremendous work ethic and had a "no nonsense" approach in what ever task she had. She enjoyed going to the beach and going shopping and had a love of flowers and gardening. Debbie loved finding quiet time to read the Bible and draw closer to her Lord. She was a dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. Most of all she loved her grandson, Harrison and spending time with him, especially watching her Duke "Blue Devils" square off against Harrison's "Tarheels"!

Debbie is survived by her parents, Terry and Cathrine Burgess, daughter, Shannon Cheek and husband, Jason, of Coleridge, her son, Jonathan Cole and wife, Tiffany, of Asheboro, grandson, Harrison Cheek, of Coleridge, brother, Mark Burgess, of Ramseur, many close cousins, and good friend, Robin.
