Adam Cortes

Adam Cortes, 57, passed away on July 12, 2023. Born in Paterson, he was a lifelong resident of Paterson. Adam worked as a mechanic and a fabricator for AAA Metal and Glass, Paterson, for many years. Adam, was a man whose heart beat to the rhythm of cars, car races and salsa music. He had a natural talent for fixing vehicles and his hands were always busy tinkering and fine-tuning engines. His skills were unmatched, and his friends and family relied on him whenever their cars needed attention. Beyond his mechanical expertise, Adam had a passion for car races. The exhilaration and excitement of the track captivated his spirit and he would not miss the Pan American Nationals which involved his Puerto Rican heritage. His deep connection with his heritage was part of his identity. He carried his love for his island of Puerto Rico in his heart and he found solace and happiness in the vibrant sounds of Salsa Music. He loved and cherished being around the people he loved most his family and friends.
Son of the late Antonio Cortes and the late Gloria Cortes Millet. Devoted father of Yanis Cortes of Hope Mills, NC, Miguel A. Cortes, Adam Perales both of Paterson and the late Maria Linda Cortes. Cherished grandfather of Tatiana Quinones and Nevaeh Velez. Loving brother of Milagros, Antonio, and Irving Cortes all of Puerto Rico, Isaias Cruz of South Carolina, Irving Cruz, Haydee Kahilihiwa both of Pennsylvania and Danny Millet of Nutley. Adam is also survived by his wife Ana L. Zavala. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Wednesday 9 AM – 12 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with a prayer service beginning at 11:30 AM. Interment, Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn.

Adam Cortés, de 57 años, falleció el 12 de julio de 2023. Nacido en Paterson, fue residente de Paterson durante toda su vida. Adam trabajó como mecánico y fabricante para AAA Metal and Glass, Paterson, durante muchos años. Adam, era un hombre cuyo corazón latía al ritmo de los autos, las carreras de autos y la música salsa. Tenía un talento natural para reparar vehículos y sus manos siempre estaban ocupadas haciendo pequeños ajustes y afinando motores. Sus habilidades eran inigualables, y sus amigos y familiares confiaban en él cada vez que sus autos necesitaban atención. Más allá de su experiencia mecánica, a Adam le apasionaban las carreras de autos. El regocijo y la emoción de la pista cautivaron su espíritu y no se perdería los Nacionales Panamericanos que involucraban su herencia puertorriqueña. Su profunda conexión con su herencia era parte de su identidad. Llevaba su amor por su isla de Puerto Rico en su corazón y encontró consuelo y felicidad en los vibrantes sonidos de la música salsa. Amaba y apreciaba estar cerca de las personas que más amaba, su familia y sus amigos.
Hijo del difunto Antonio Cortés y la difunta Gloria Cortés Millet. Padre devoto de Yanis Cortés de Hope Mills, NC, Miguel A. Cortés, Adam Perales ambos de Paterson y la difunta María Linda Cortés. Querido abuelo Tatiana Quiñones y Nevaeh Vélez. Amado hermano de Milagros, Antonio y Irving Cortés todos de Puerto Rico, Isaias Cruz de SC, Irving Cruz, Haydee Kahilihiwa de PA y Danny Millet de Nutley. Adam también le sobrevive su esposa Ana L. Zavala. Muchas tías, tíos, sobrinas, sobrinos y primos lo extrañarán mucho.
Velorio el miércoles de 9 AM a 12 PM en La Funeraria Shook, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, con un servicio de oración que comienza a las 11:30 AM. Entierro, Cementerio Fair Lawn Memorial, Clifton.
