Dear Jim and Lisa, after reading Adam´s obituary I feel he was so blessed to be so loved. He made a difference in others lives and has left that legacy behind. To have an impact on another person and help at times when others couldn´t or wouldn´t is so special. That´s why you could choose the words you said when you talked of his death, you knew the special qualities he had over and above his struggles with addiction, that´s your legacy to him. His brother will have the bond you speak of forever, no matter where Adam is. That too is a gift. The openness and honesty in your words in Adam´s obituary was also impactful, you honored your son while he struggled with addiction that is not honorable. Your words have impacted me personally, I will try to honor my daughter more while she is still with me, she too struggles with addiction as you know, however you have enlightened my heart and I will learn from your words and endeavor to be stronger and more brave and compassionate, thank you for that. I didn't know him or your family. I thank you for sharing your grief and being honest. Many parents are afraid of getting "that call". I have a son with an addiction. Praying for you.

Bill and I are so very sorry for the loss of Adam. We never met Adam, but it sounds like he was a brilliant, caring and always willing to help anyone in need. We lost our son/stepson, Andrew, also 29, 10 years ago. Unfortunately, we understand your pain far too well. We hope you can find some peace in knowing Adam has touched so many lives in his short time on Earth. He will no doubtedly walk beside you in eternally. Jacqueline & William Wehmeyer
