Charlton: Adam Dunlay Faust, 29, of Baker Road in Charlton, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at home after an accidental drug overdose. Adam fought his drug addiction courageously and relentlessly and recently celebrated two years being clean which he, his family and friends celebrated joyously and so proudly.
Adam dedicated himself to helping others with drug addiction problems. In his position over three years' time, he counseled individuals, led numerous therapeutic groups, spoke at meetings in commitments and formed trusting and loving connections with those so in need. He frequently would leave the house in the early morning hours to go out and rescue someone in trouble, getting him or her into a rehabilitation facility for treatment, safely out of harm's way. He saved countless lives and had a positive impact on hundreds of others, both clients and coworkers. He accomplished more good in his short life than most do in a lifetime.
Adam was intelligent, caring, empathetic, selfless, funny and not ever bashful about saying what he thought. He was a son no parent could ever be more proud of, respect more greatly, or be more utterly in love with than his parents were with him. He was always giving to and doing for others, and he had a very strong moral compass. Adam was the best brother and loved unconditionally. Brian and Adam's relationship was full of laughter, offhand jokes and when needed, unwavering support. Adam and Brian were truly "Brothers until the end".
Adam was born in Worcester, MA and graduated from Quaboag Regional High School in 2012 as the President of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Cross Country Team. He went to Bentley University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance. He worked a few jobs in both management and banking before settling into his career in the field of Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation, a career he was very passionate about and dedicated to.
Adam enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his most beloved dog, Sandy. He formed very strong and enduring relationships based on respect and love with so many of his wonderful coworkers. He enjoyed hiking with Sandy and friends, cooking (at which he excelled), laughing and lifting everyone else's spirits. He would selflessly give the shirt off his back to a stranger. His greatest loves were his family and his dog Sandy.
Adam leaves behind his parents, Jim and Lisa Faust, of Charlton, MA; his brother Brian and Brian's fiancé, Brianna Limbaugh, of Leominster, MA; two sets of grandparents, Dick and Rita Turnbull (with whom he had a very special relationship) and Dr. James and Marylou Faust of Gardner, MA, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.
Adam spent every day dedicated to helping, loving, and sharing his day with others. Until we meet again in Heaven, Adam will be terribly missed, ferociously loved, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Adam's honor on Thursday, July 25th from 5:30 to 9:30PM at The Barn at Blackstone National, 227 Putnam Hill Rd., Sutton, MA. Please bring stories and memories to share of our Adam.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd, East Brookfield, MA 01515 or The Greater Waltham Recovery Solutions, online at www.greaterwalthamrecovery.com/donation or call 1-781-839-0143.

Dear Jim and Lisa, after reading Adam´s obituary I feel he was so blessed to be so loved. He made a difference in others lives and has left that legacy behind. To have an impact on another person and help at times when others couldn´t or wouldn´t is so special. That´s why you could choose the words you said when you talked of his death, you knew the special qualities he had over and above his struggles with addiction, that´s your legacy to him. His brother will have the bond you speak of forever, no matter where Adam is. That too is a gift. The openness and honesty in your words in Adam´s obituary was also impactful, you honored your son while he struggled with addiction that is not honorable. Your words have impacted me personally, I will try to honor my daughter more while she is still with me, she too struggles with addiction as you know, however you have enlightened my heart and I will learn from your words and endeavor to be stronger and more brave and compassionate, thank you for that. I didn't know him or your family. I thank you for sharing your grief and being honest. Many parents are afraid of getting "that call". I have a son with an addiction. Praying for you.

Bill and I are so very sorry for the loss of Adam. We never met Adam, but it sounds like he was a brilliant, caring and always willing to help anyone in need. We lost our son/stepson, Andrew, also 29, 10 years ago. Unfortunately, we understand your pain far too well. We hope you can find some peace in knowing Adam has touched so many lives in his short time on Earth. He will no doubtedly walk beside you in eternally. Jacqueline & William Wehmeyer
