Adam Christian Hedman, 21, of Fond du Lac, WI and Saint Charles, MN, died unexpectedly of natural causes in his dorm room at Concordia University in Mequon, WI on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024.
He was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 9th, 2002, to Pastor Douglas and Faith Hedman. Adam attended Pier Elementary school, Theisen Middle school, and Fond du Lac High School before attending Concordia University where he was a senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in Cyber Security. During his summers, Adam enjoyed working in the kitchen at A&W in Fond du Lac where he worked for 6 years.
Adam met many wonderful friends that he valued throughout his life. He was always willing to be there and support those that he cared for. He made the time to help someone in need.
Adam was always very caring and considerate. Even as a child, he would help his neighbors mow the lawn by following them around with his own toy mower. Even at the end of his life, he was an organ donor to help save lives.
As a pastor’s kid (PK), Adam was a member of several different Lutheran churches throughout his life. He was baptized and confirmed while being active in the church. He was an acolyte during the service and helped with many service projects.
Everyone who knew Adam knew how much he loved gaming. He was a part of an e-sports team at Concordia where he was made a captain. This past December his team won the Wisconsin Valorant Academic Circuit LAN Tournament for the first time in program history. Aside from gaming, Adam also enjoyed playing chess, playing sports (basketball, volleyball, and track), watching anime and K-dramas, and reading manga, light novels, and webtoons. He loved to laugh and had a good sense of humor. Adam also enjoyed music, where he sang in choir and played the saxophone in band.
The tradition of Fond du Lac choir was always to end the concert by singing The Lord Bless You and Keep You:
The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord lift his countenance upon you
And give you peace
And give you peace
The Lord make his face to shine upon you
And be gracious unto you
The Lord be gracious unto you
Be gracious unto you
Amen, Amen, Amen
Amen, Amen, Amen
Adam was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Josephine and Vernon Hedman, and maternal grandfather, Pastor Paul Ronning. He is survived by parents Douglas and Faith, siblings Andrew (Emily, daughter Genevieve), Sarah, and Rachel, Grandma Betty Ronning, many aunts, uncles, cousins.
