Adam R. Jergens, age 36, of Nevada, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at his home near Nevada, Iowa, surrounded by family.
Adam Richard Jergens was born June 16, 1988, in Emmetsburg, Iowa to parents Russ and Lori (Nedved) Jergens. He attended West Bend-Mallard Schools where he was an avid wrestler placing 2nd in state wrestling as well as a state champion in football. Adam graduated in 2007, then attended Iowa Central Community College before starting his business, Adam Jergens Trucking, hauling livestock for Banwart trucking for many years. He enjoyed driving many miles with his faithful dog Nutmeg by his side. On September 26th, 2020, Adam was united in marriage to Holly Phillips at Faith Community Church near Palmer. The couple settled in Nevada, where Adam continued to truck.
Adam enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, golf, and time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew. He always had a project he was working on, from woodworking to welding. One of his most treasured memories was shooting his elk while hunting in Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Holly of Nevada; parents, Russ and Lori Jergens of Pocahontas; brothers, Ryan (Jodi) Jergens of Mallard and Mike (Ashlie) Jergens of Havelock; nieces, Rylee and Adalyn; nephew, Jase; grandparents, Dick and Esther Jergens of Gilmore City and Colleen and Lanny Paul of Pocahontas; parents-in-law, Mark and Krystal Phillips, and sisters-in-law, Leah Phillips, Laura Phillips, all of Pocahontas, and Grace (Colt) Wandrey, nieces Addison and Everleigh, all of Auburn.
Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cletus Nedved.
