Ashley Rose Bindel

Ashley R. Bindel, age 31, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, after losing a long battle with Mental Health. Ashley Rose Bindel was born on June 14, 1993, in Pocahontas, Iowa. She was the daughter of Troy and Holly (Kepka) Bindel. Ashley was the 2001 Pocahontas County Fair Little Miss Congeniality winner. She attended Pocahontas Catholic School and went on to Pocahontas Area Community High School, graduating in 2012. While in school she was active in drill team, cheerleading, and attended dance classes at Melinda's School of Dance. Ashley attended Kirkwood and Des Moines Area Community College before working at Northwest Communications. Ashley loved weekends at the lake, camping, her dogs Daisy and Luna, and her niece and nephew. Ashley is survived by her parents; Holly (Eric) Sorensen and Troy (Melinda) Bindel; her significant other, Carter Jarvis; siblings, Andy (Dani) Hansen and Allison (Chris) Brown; niece, Lilith Hansen; nephew, Harrison Brown and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jacky and Bill Bindel and Emma and R.J. Kepka and her aunts, Valerie Hughes and Kelli Jarvis. As we remember Ashley, we also want to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. Struggles are not always visible, but help is always available. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a memorial account in Ashley's name at the Pocahontas State Bank in Pocahontas, Iowa.
