Adam Wade Riley, age 53, of Dover, Tennessee, and originally of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully the night of Saturday, November 15, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, with his family at his side.
Adam was born October 12, 1972, in Murray, Kentucky, son of Jerry Wade Riley and Marilyn Joan Wheeler Riley. He was raised in West Fork Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky. Adam graduated from Calloway County High School in 1990 and went on to work for Murray Auto Auction for 31 years before becoming an excellent house painter for a brief time. He met Heather in 2018, they married in 2020, and he proudly adopted daughters Shelby and Samantha in 2021. Adam was a lifelong outdoorsman who lived to hunt and fish, possessed endless knowledge of the region's wildlife, and was pleased to say in later years that he truly lived in the Land Between the Lakes. His dedication to Kentucky Wildcats basketball was unmatched, and Adam was also an extremely gifted lead guitar player and a loyal friend to many who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, the late Ralph and Kathy Riley of Murray, Kentucky, the late William "Cooney" Wheeler of Boydsville, Kentucky, and the late Verda Mae Wheeler Mason of Sedalia, Kentucky; as well as several dear aunts and uncles.
Adam is survived by his parents of Murray; beloved wife, Heather Leigh Riley, of Dover, Tennessee; precious daughters, Shelby Raine Riley of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Samantha Alicia Riley of Murray; brother Clint Wheeler Riley of Murray; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends; sister-in-law Sonia Peacher Gensler (Steve) of Norman, Oklahoma; and brothers-in-law Ernest Peacher of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Jason Trekell of Indian Mound, Tennessee.
A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m., continuing until the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Randy Kuykendall officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home of Dover, Tennessee. Messages of comfort and remembrance may be shared at anglinfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Dover (Cat Adoption Team - CATS), 533 Honey Fork Road, Indian Mound, Tennessee 37079.
