Mr. Adan Luján Carrasco, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on March 28, 2024, at 12:23 am.
Adan Luján Carrasco, better known as " Apa", son of Gorgonio and Josefa Carrasco. He was born on March 7, 1941, in Mulato, Chihuahua Mexico, where he was also raised. He was one of 5 siblings. He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years Leandra Vasquez de Carrasco, whom he met in their hometown of Mulato. They married in Mulato, May 9, 1969, and moved to Odessa, TX. on February 24, 1978. They formed a beautiful family of 4 girls,10 grandkids and 7 great grandkids.
He loved working on diesel trucks and became a handy man after retirement. He also enjoyed cookouts and when anyone walked in the door he would always say, " vamos a tomarnos unas matitas ", meaning he was offering his favorite beer, a Budweiser. Adan always made everyone feel welcome and part of his family. He also enjoyed sharing his hobby of gardening with his lovely wife Leandra and his two companions Boomer and Cowboy.
In life Adan was a rancher in Mulato and later when they moved to Odessa, Texas, he worked for Britt Trucking until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Leandra Vasquez de Carrasco. Their first granddaughter Janeth married Mark Salas of Odessa, TX. His daughter Olivia Olivas married Rafael of Odessa, TX., their children Gabriel Baeza of Odessa, TX., married to Iralyn and their sons Aaden and Bryson Baeza. Sergio Baeza of Odessa, TX., married to Briana and their daughters Analeah, Alaina and Braelynn Baeza. Abraham Olivas and Alexandra Huerta and their daughter Violet Diaz. Sarah Olivas and Joe White of Odessa, TX. Eva married Albert Garza of Odessa, TX., their children Albert Jr and his son Julian Garza, and Mario Garza. Laura Villegas married Javier of Dallas, TX. and their daughters Alex, Bre and Cierra.
Also survived by his sisters Marta Areola and Eva Roman, countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
Adan is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Gloria Carrasco and his sisters Margarita Anguiano and Maria Prieto.
Pallbearers will be all six of his grandkids and his great grandson.
Viewing at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 6801 E, I-20BL, Odessa, TX, Viewing on be Monday, April 1, 2024 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and the rosary starting at 6:00pm. Tuesday viewing starts at 9:00 am with funeral services at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of San Juan Mission Church, 905 Edgeport Dr. A, Odessa, TX. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
