On January 21, 1984, Donny married the love of his life, Tammie Kinney. Their union was blessed with forty-two years of marriage, three children, and a lifetime of laughter and love. Donny's unwavering support for his family was evident in his constant presence at his children's and grandchildren's sporting and school events. He celebrated every milestone and achievement with the same enthusiasm and pride as if it were his own.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Donny found joy in playing golf and fishing. His favorite fishing trips were those spent in Laredo with his father-in-law, Charlie, where they shared not only the catch of the day but also meaningful conversations and laughter.
