Adan Quintana passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023.
He was born in San Xavier, Mexico on September 13, 1938. He was raised in Namiquipa, Chihuahua with his family. He moved to Texas as a teenager, was married twice, and had 6 children. He was a loving, kind, and generous father and made sure his children and other family members had what they needed. He always wanted to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and those close to him. He was hardworking his whole life. He spent most of his life as a farm laborer, where he tended crops and took care of land. He retired from the Excel meat packing plant in Hereford. He had a small tienda at the T-Anchor flea market in Amarillo, where he sold nuts and dried chilies, for many years. He had an active social life and was caring to others, including animals. He loved to go to casinos, play card games, and joke and laugh.
He leaves behind: six children (and their significant others) – Adam (and Sandra) Quintana, Ester (and Valentín) Zamora, Mimi (and Kevin) McDowell, Rachel (and Bruce) Hernandez, Rudy Quintana, and Olivia Quintana; grandchildren – Jessica Smith, Clarissa Streater, Lesandra Botello, Caleb Quintana, Andrew Zamora, Matthew Hernandez, Adriana Norez, Siarra Natividad, Jacob Hernandez, Briana Hernandez and Gia Quintana; and sisters, Eva Burciaga and Quica Miranda; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Santiago and Maria Quintana; his brother, Manuel Quintana; his sisters, Catalina Burciaga and Emilia Munoz; granddaughters, Victoria McDowell and Priscilla Garcia; and great grandchildren, Noah and Nathaniel Norez.
His prayer service will be at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford, at 6:00 pm on February 3rd, 2023. His memorial service will be at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford on February 4th, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
