Adan Saenz, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Early life
Adan was born in Juan Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 25, 1930. He traveled throughout his young adult life and lived in Wyoming and Colorado. Adan was a sheep herder for many years and he loved to share stories about sheep herding adventures.
Adan learned leather craftsmanship at young age from his dad. He worked for several saddleries in the El Paso area where he handcrafted beautiful belts, saddles, and other horse-riding accessories.
He married Concepcion Cazares and had three children: Nohemi, Jeronimo, and Adriana. He is remembered by his wife and children as having had a great sense of humor, loved spending time at the racetrack, and enjoyed watching old western movies.
Preceded in Death and Survived by
Adan is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Ramoncita Saenz, his brother Rosalio Saenz, and sister Ofelia Saenz Martinez. He leaves behind his wife of more than 50 years Concepcion Saenz, and his children, Nohemi, Jeronimo, Adriana and his daughter-in- law Alicia. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Nicole, Yvette Priscilla, Isabella, Adan Enrique, Emily Daniela, Sol Xitlali, and Celeste Itzel.
Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be heled at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 WInchester. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza.
