Addye May Fowler

Addye May Fowler, a remarkable woman who brought art, music, and love to the world, passed away on September 17, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on November 6, 1932, to John Ralph and Virginia Viola Carter in Spur.   Addye was a devoted member of the Visual Arts League at The Colony, where she showcased her talent and passion for the arts. Her ability to express herself through poetry, music, and performance resonated deeply with all those who had the privilege of witnessing her immense talent. Addye's captivating performances at the Lewisville MCL Grand will forever be remembered as moments of pure inspiration and joy for all who attended.   Throughout her life, Addye diligently devoted herself to her roles as a wife and mother. She gracefully balanced her creative pursuits with her commitment to her family. Addye's unwavering love and support were a source of strength for her loved ones, and her impact as a devoted mother and wife will be cherished eternally.   Addye's professional journey showcased her versatility and determination. She fearlessly embraced various roles in sales, food service, office management, and even made a mark in the real estate industry as a skilled salesperson. Her strong work ethic and adaptability were admired by colleagues and clients alike.   For nearly two decades, Addye resided with her daughter in The Colony, Texas, where she immersed herself in the vibrant local arts community. The friendships and connections she formed during this time brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Later in life, she chose to relocate to Levelland to be closer to her loving son, creating a new chapter filled with cherished memories and moments of togetherness.   As we gather to bid farewell to this incredible woman, we celebrate Addye's enduring legacy of creativity, resilience, and love. Her life served as a testament to the beauty of self-expression and the power of nurturing relationships.    Addye is preceded in death by her husband, C.F. Fowler, Jr., parents, John and Virginia Carter, two brothers, “Buddy” Carter, John Ralph Carter Jr., and three sisters, Eileen Dixon, Geneva Smith, and Ruby Curry.   Addye is survived by her children, Sherry Lynn Reynolds and Patrick Curtis Fowler; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way; sister, Ella Fay Reynolds; and 30 nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, September 22, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnny Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.    Viewing will be held from 10 am until 2 pm, on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with a family visitation from 12 pm until the start of the service.
