Adela Chico

Adela Chico passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario Chico, her father, Hilario Garcia, her mother, Eufemia Morales, her brothers Alvaro and Humberto Garcia; and her sister Acelia Gil. She is survived by her sister, Hildeliza Tejeda of California.

Adela was born in Cuba on October 23, 1935. She came to the United States with her children in September of 1962. She was the most loving mother anyone could hope for. Adela is survived by her children, Maria Schilke and her husband, Scott, of Marco Island, Adele Rodriguez and her husband, Jorge, of Naples, and Jose Rodriguez of Naples. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren, Irene Duryea, Andre (Cindy) Figueroa, and Jorge F. Rodriguez II. She is also survived by her 7 great-grandchildren, Alexia A. Duryea, Nicholas C. Figueroa, Christian J. Figueroa, Olivia D. Duryea, Jorge E. Rodriguez, Mason C. Duryea, and Isabella G. Rodriguez.

Adela will forever be remembered with great love. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved life and never said no if you invited her to go somewhere. She passed to join her loving husband, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Christ Community Naples, 6060 Collier Blvd. Naples, FL, July 20, 2025, at 3 PM.
