Adela W. Robinson
ENOREE- Adela Wingate Robinson, 77, of 3940 Old Hills Bridge Road passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024.
She was born December 14, 1946, in San Francisco, California to the late Elzy Warren Wingate and Almira Amelia Sharp Wingate. She was the owner and operator of Dela's One Stop Grocery in Cross Anchor for many years. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are two sons, John Robinson (Sindy) of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Kirk Robinson (Melinda) of Trussville, Alabama; two sisters, Anita Justice of Woodruff and Almira Cornell of Mason, Ohio; two brothers, Bill Wingate of Palm Coast, Florida and Warren Wingate of Yellow Springs, Ohio; 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff. A private interment will follow at the family cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Ships, P.O. Box 1930, Garden Valley, Texas, 75771 or mercyships.org.
The family is at their respective homes.

I was Postmaster at the Cross Anchor Post Office, right down the road from the store. I couldn't wait for lunch to come so I could go to Dela's and get her famous hot dogs and a glass bottle coke. She was always a delight to talk to. She will be missed.

She was known all over the southeast by so many truckers who would drive out of their way to just stop by and get a bag of her almost famous hotdogs and then be on their way back. She was one of the gears in our little community that kept our dot on the map.
