Adele Marie Bratt
Devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, and Friend
1948 - 2025
Adele Marie Bratt, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully on October 13th, surrounded by her devoted children and dear brother Mike - a group she lovingly referred to as her "Village."
Del was born and raised in South Boston and attended Gate of Heaven School, proudly graduating in 1966. In seventh grade, her brother Joe introduced her to his best friend, Robert Bratt, who would soon become the love of her life. From that moment on, their lives were inseparable - filled with love, laughter, and countless summers whiled away on the beaches of Marshfield and Humarock. Del and Bob married on September 6, 1969, and soon began their journey as a Navy couple. Bob's service took them coast to coast, from Virginia to California, before they eventually settled in Brockton and later North Easton. They shared over 54 years of marriage before Bob's passing on October 24, 2023.
Del was the heart and soul of her family. She was deeply loving and always the one people turned to - whether for advice, a reality check, or simply a place to feel safe. As a stay-at-home mom, Del worked tirelessly to raise the Bratt Bunch, juggling endless practices, cheering from the sidelines, and chauffeuring the troops in her big blue van - all while keeping the house running like clockwork. She showed up for everything and everyone, no matter how big or small. Del had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and heard. Along the way, she became a "second mom" to many others - too many to name, but if you're reading this, you know who you are.
Del's tireless desire to help others blossomed as her children began to gain independence. With the same love and commitment, she stepped into a new role as a caregiver - not only for her mother and sister but also for other members of her family and extended family. Even in her later years, despite facing her own health challenges, Del would always be first in line to support the families of some of her closest friends, offering care and comfort as they journeyed to the other side.
Del adored her children and grandchildren beyond words and took tremendous pride in each of them. She celebrated their every accomplishment and always showed up with love, support, and her signature no-filter commentary. Her hugs, laughter, and warmth will be cherished forever.
Del is survived by her children: Phillip of Easton; Erek and his wife Carol of Norton; Sarah Sheehan and her husband Tim of Easton; and Bryon and his wife Karen of Walpole. Adele was a proud and loving "Nana Del or Nana Beeps" to Cameron, Jake, Ryon, Brayden, and Addison. Her loving son Patrick passed away in 2021, leaving a lasting hole in her heart.
Del also leaves behind her brother Ed Quirk and nieces Heidi Zelasco and Deanna Lempi of Minnesota and her brother Michael Quirk and his wife Donna of Saugus, Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her parents, Basil and Adele Quirk, and her brother Joe and sister Patty.
Even in her final days, Del never stopped taking care of others. She offered comfort, humor, and hard-earned wisdom to those around her, staying true to who she was - honest, strong, and full of love.
A celebration of Adele's life will be held at 10:30 AM, on Friday, October 24th at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, North Easton, MA. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a woman who told it like it was, loved with her whole heart, and made everyone feel like family.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to some of Del's favorite charities: Smile Train, Saint Francis House, or My Brother's Keeper.
She will be missed more than words can express - and remembered with deep love.
