Adeline Kroc Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors on Mar. 18, 2026.
Adeline passed away the morning of Feb 23 after years of living with dementia. She is survived by her husband Bill, son Lon, sisters Mary, Doreen and Teri. Predeceasd by her mother Julia, father Alfred, and brothers Alfred and Joseph.

Adi was born in Wilkes-Barre PA. She grew up and graduated high school in South Amboy, N.J. A few years later she married and gave birth to a most excellent son. Her travels took her to California and Colorado, where she re-married. Dumping the cold Colorado then Utah winters she ended up back in the southern California sun for over 30 years. The U-haul was retired after a planned move near her son in Oregon, where she spent her last years.

Who can forget her unique (Boyer infused) light-hearted wit, silly antics, and array of funny noises? If she found someone to play along, it was pure ridiculousness! It would be hard to recall a sour face when mentioning her name. Adi could always manage to create a good time without a penny in her pocket or a place to go. Even later when she moved to a care home, she became the life of the party overnight.

For some, a sense of humor would be enough, but Adi also had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. If you needed something, she was there. If she wanted to do something nice for you, nothing would stand in her way. It may not have always been anywhere close to the greatest idea, but she always had the best intentions.

Adi loved the wonders of nature and all of the animals in it. Trips through Yosemite topped her list, along with Hawaii, SeaWorld, aquariums, or standing under the Redwoods. Yet she could also be in paradise sitting on the porch talking to her humming birds with her cat on her lap… or the neighbor's cat... or 'their' neighbor's cat.

Her passion in life was to worship God and study the Bible. She looked forward to weekly book studies and meetings. The opportunity to travel and attend other congregations and assemblies were her kid-in-the-candy-store moments. Even when other things became difficult, she pushed herself to be involved. She held her unwavering faith till the very end.

Adeline's canvas of life was equally incredible as the wonders that flowed from her paintbrush. Could be oil, acrylic, or water base from the hardware store, she could take anything from a knick-knack to an assembly hall and turn it into a visual masterpiece. Some of her works leave you shaking your head wondering, "Wait? This is paint?" Her talent landed her 'Beach Bouys' painting a 3rd place prize at one of Southern California's largest fairs. Being a perfectionist and not one to ever toot her own horn, she was really proud of this one.

Adeline was a beautiful person inside and out. She will always be remembered and her presence greatly missed.
