Thomas Knight Obituary
He preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Thomas Franklin Knight, born 15 January 1951 in San Diego, California. He was the third child of Howard Wineman Knight and Marylin Ruth Johnson. He grew up in San Diego where he played in a marching band, enjoyed the weather for fun in the sun, he was always ready to leave church to go check and see if the surf was up. Following high school he enlisted in the Marine Corp.
He grew up with the nick name of Frank, because there was too many Tom's in the family- Grandfather was Tom and cousins. It all depends if you knew him before he went into the service or after.
In 1971, he married Carol Case (his sweetheart) in San Diego, California on 2 August 1971. They have lived in San Diego to Manassas, VA to San Diego to Maine to San Diego to Fontana, Ca to Winston, Or. He is the father of Ida Hildebrand (husband Jerry), Matthew Knight, Jason Knight (wife Teresa), Peter Knight (wife Kayla), Kathleen Mai, and Christopher Knight (wife Sachi). There are 15 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.
He belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoys collecting coins and stamp, going on cruises and spending time with the grandchildren.
He will always be remembered by his remarks whether it be a joke he gave ("Go get 'em, tiger, let me hear ya roar!", peachy keno avocado with a slice of lime, the only branch of military is the Marnie Corp, or a gentle gesture he would give (putting his hand on his forehead and shaking his head in disbelief or touching your shoulder knowing he emphasize with you), or his simple I love you's.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his sister Suzanne Carlson (husband Steve), brother-in-law John Case, children and grandchildren and greatgrandchild.
His services will be on Monday February 9th at 11am at the Winston Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
