Adrian Warren Westergard, 92, of rural Erhard MN, died on July 1, 2025. As he wanted, he spent his final moments at home in the presence of his family.
Adrian was born on January 9, 1933 to Anton and Olga (Carter) Westergard at their farm in rural Erhard. After attending school and working on the family farm, Adrian enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. He was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina where he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
On June 8, 1957 he married Sharon Ouren. The couple went on to have 6 children and eventually made the Westergard farm their home. There, Adrian enjoyed spending time in his gardens, canning, keeping busy outdoors, feeding his birds and reading. He was also an active member of Maplewood Lutheran Church where he served on the board for many years.
Adrian was many things to many people - a loving husband, caring father, doting grandpa, loyal friend, respected boss and trusted mentor. Whether it was through his 30 years at Lake Region Electric, his time at Maplewood, or simply as a member of the family or a friend, his quick wit and steadfast integrity left a lasting impression. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Westergard, his parents, sisters Phyllis (Maynard) Hornstine, Annette Kruse, and Audrey Westergard; brother Arvin Westergard; brother and sister-in-law Art and Beth Westergard, brothers-in-law Marvin Ronningen and Don Lein; in-laws Harold (Carol) Ouren, Lester (Pat) Ouren, Clifford (Jean) Ouren, Joyce (George) Thiel, LeRoy (Marilyn) Ouren, Jimmy Ouren, Roy (Karen) Ouren, and Orin Koziol; nieces Leslie Kruse, Robyn Beckman, Denise Ouren and Susie Bolling; nephews Chris Lein, Mark Andrews, Steve Ravenscraft and Kenny Ravenscraft.
