Agatha Douglas

Agatha Pitz Douglas, 89, of Aurora, was called home to heaven, July 5, 2017 to be with our Savior. She was born November 20, 1927, in Juniata, Nebraska, the daughter of the late John and Christina Pitz. At 4 ft 8 inches this humble woman was the rock and strength of her family. She had a generous spirit and was a mighty prayer warrior for anyone in need. With grace and joy she shared all that she had to give, but most importantly, the good news of Christ's love and mercy. She will be remembered for her abiding faith in all of God's promises, her kindness, her wisdom and her special prayers on every family holiday. And last but not least, her unmatched baking skills she loved to share with everyone. Agatha was an active member of Wheaton Christian Church for over 30 years and she considered them "family", especially Pastor Jackson, who was second son to her. She leaves behind to cherish and honor her memory her 4 daughters, Paulette (Ron) Stewart of Ocala, FL, Barbara (Roy) Gonzalez of Aurora, IL, Colleen Thornbrugh of Eudora, KS and Patricia Orlovsky of Arlington, MA; 12 grandchildren, Jackie Egger, Christopher (Diane) Gonzalez, Damian (Maria) Gonzalez, Raquel (Jeff) Thomas, Victoria (Joseph) Cervantes, Alexandria (Clint) Hepler, Alena Beckwith, Tyler Beckwith, John Paul Beckwith, Natalia (David) Holcomb, Nika (Patrick) Orlovsky and Elias Orlovsky; 18 great grandchildren, Miranda Egger, Vanessa Barajas, Julian Gonzalez, Andrew Fisher, Rianna Gonzalez, Ava Gonzalez, Jude Gonzalez, Vida Gonzalez, Nate Thomas, Zoe Thomas, Anastasia Cervantes, Raphael Cervantes, Alejandro Cervantes, Penelope Hepler, Charlotte Hepler, Louisa Hepler, Philomena Hepler and Leander Hepler; 5 great great grandchildren, Damian Ponce, Oliva Montenegro, Addison Fisher, Julianna Gonzalez and Jaden Wood; 2 sisters, Alice White and Janice Feltes; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her Wheaton Christian Center Family as well as Pastor Jackson who she considered a second son. Along with her parents, Agatha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; 2 brothers, Leander Pitz and Frances Pitz; son, John Duane Thornbrugh and great-grandson, Seth Egger. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 9 AM until time of service 10 AM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506.
