Agnes Doris Cardwell passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday December 6, 2024. Born in Bala Cynwyd on March 21, 1928, she was the loving daughter of Richard and Leah Welsh (nee Bowen).
Upon graduating high school, Doris went on to marry the love of her life, the late Martin Joseph Cardwell. Together they shared 24 years of marriage before his passing in 1973. Doris was a devoted wife, cherished mother to Donna Schroyer (the late Mark), Monica Cardwell, Margaret "Meg" Conway (Philip), dear grandmother to Jason (Gina), the late Jeremy, Kristen (Chris), Ryan (Lauren), Kieran, Colin (Sophia), and Aidan, great grandmother to Maria, Ethan, Joel, Janisa, Jeremy, Makai, Penelope, and Mona, and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her siblings Claire Dellinger, Michael Welsh and Richard Welsh.
Doris worked for several years with Operating Engineers Pension Fund before retiring at 62. In her free time, she enjoyed time with family, immediate and extended. In her earlier years, she volunteered in various schools and enjoyed traveling and a good lunch. In her later years, Bingo became a fun activity along with puzzles.
Above all, her greatest joy was her family who will miss her deeply. We find comfort knowing she is again reunited with her husband, son in law, grandson and siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to Doris' Life Celebration at St. Helena's Church of Blue Bell on Thursday the 12th of December, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with her funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
