Agnes E. "Connie" Dey, age 93, of Greenville, formerly of Orleans, passed away October 14, 2021 at Golden Life – Roy Drive in Greenville. The daughter of Altha Jewell (Jefferies) & Cullen Douglas Moncreiff, Sr., she was born on December 27, 1927 in Detroit and grew up in Rosedale Gardens. She attended the University of Michigan. In 1950, she married John Joseph "Jack" Clarke and together they had three children, while Connie also worked outside the home at Associated Truck Lines.

After their divorce in 1966, she transferred to the Ionia terminal and purchased a horse farm in Orleans where she made her home until 1996. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding, participated in 4-H with her children, and was very active in both square and clog dancing. She later began working for the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville, spending many years at the former GAAP warehouse in Greenville, and retired from the traffic department at the Greenville plant.

In retirement, she made her summer home in Greenville and wintered in Phoenix, Arizona. In Greenville, she was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Greenville Area Senior Center, the Red Hat Society, and her knitting group, "The Purls".

She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Keith H. Tapley; a son, Joseph Cullen "Bud" Clarke; a son-in-law, Jeffrey M. McCarty; a step-grandson, Ryan M. Wilson; a brother, C. Douglas Moncreiff, Jr.; and a life-long friend, Barbara Kowalski.

Surviving are two daughters, Julie & Dan Hyde of Gowen, and Barbara Clarke-McCarty of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Sherri & Steve Pearson of Virginia; a brother, Jim & Carol Moncreiff of Sterling Heights; a sister-in-law, Jean Moncreiff of Springville, New York; three grandsons, Robert & Joni Christiansen of Greenville, John & Christina Christiansen of Crystal, and Kyle P. Clarke of Grand Rapids; a granddaughter, Julie Ann "Jules" & Brandon Lavoie of Brookfield, Wisconsin; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Krausz, Jenna & Jared Allen, Thoren Christiansen, Taryn Christiansen, Colette Lavoie, Mason Allen, Caiden Allen, and Allister Clarke; two step-grandchildren, Tim & Stephanie Hyde, and Annette & Greg Merren, all of Greenville; five step-great grandchildren, Emily & Josh Franklin, Maddie Hyde, Andres Hyde, Alex Merren, and Natalie Merren; two step-great great granddaughters, Hydee Sigafoose and Elizabeth Franklin; a life-long friend, Jo Clever; and many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 505 S. Lafayette Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Father James B. Wyse presiding. Burial will take place privately at Orleans Township Cemetery.

Connie always said, "If you want to send me flowers, do it while I'm alive and can appreciate them." Instead of flowers, Connie would have appreciated contributions in her memory to the Greenville Area Senior Center, 715 S Baldwin St, Greenville, MI 48838. Envelopes will be available at the church.

The family extends their special thanks to Connie's compassionate caregivers at Golden Life, as well as the team at Spectrum Health Hospice.
