Agnes Mae Farrence, 84, of Snydersville, died Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Whitestone Care Center in Stroud Township. She was the widow of Edward Farrence with whom she shared 46 years of marriage at the time of his death on January 19, 2007.

Born on September 17, 1941 in Carbondale, she was a daughter of the late David J. and Helen E. (Chambers) Jones and lived in Monroe County since 1970 moving from Scranton.

Over the years she worked at Hampton Inn, Anchor and David in Stroudsburg, Lamar Fashions and in the cafeterias of Stroudsburg School District.

Agnes was a member of the former Central Pocono Ambulance Auxiliary and enjoyed playing BINGO.

She is survived by a daughter, Aldine Aleckna of Snydersville; a son-in-law, Michael Bentzley of East Stroudsburg; her adopted grandson, Zaydan Zwalley; and several nieces and nephews.

Agnes was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Bentzley in 2024 and a sister, Shirley Hunsinger.

There will be a viewing on Monday, December 1st, from 1:00 to 2:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Sciota.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Dear Aldine, I am sorry to hear of your moms passing. Iknow she has had a difficult time with her illnesses. I hope you are strong enough to understand that she was a strong person and your Dad will be with her again now.
