Agnes Marie Grefsheim

STOUGHTON - Agnes Marie (Nelson) Grefsheim, age 98, passed away on May 29, 2023, at her home in Stoughton, WI. She was born September 11, 1924, to Theodore and Annie (Greig) Nelson.
On June 20, 1946, Agnes married Richard Grefsheim. She worked for Wisconsin Bell (AT&T) for 35 years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed working and never missed a day due to illness. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1942. She was a longtime member of Covenant Lutheran Church and active in Women of the Church, Lamb of God Circle, and Blanket Makers.
Agnes loved her family. She was a devoted mother; avid reader and sports fan; quilt maker; Florida snowbird; knitter and seamstress sewing her own Norwegian costume. She and Richard enjoyed travelling, gardening, playing cards, and dancing.
Agnes is survived by one son, Larry Grefsheim; two daughters: Linda Henriksen and Lianne (Rick) Burnson; two brothers: Roger and Arnold Nelson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Margaret Leslie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; infant sister, Martha; infant brother, Truman; son, Loren Grefsheim; brother, Claire Nelson; sister-in-law, Carol (Arnie) Nelson; and son-in-law, Jack Henriksen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at COVENANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1525 N Van Buren St. Stoughton with Rev. Pastor Wendy Moen presiding. Visitation is at 10:00 AM until the funeral at the church on Saturday, followed by a luncheon and burial at Lutheran Cemetery South.
Agnes was kind, generous, and loving. She will be deeply missed.
