Agnes A Krobot

Agnes Krobot, 102, of Stuart, passed away on December 2, 2025, at Parkside Manor in Stuart.

Agnes Ann (Hamik) Krobot was born on January 10, 1923, in Stuart, NE, to Henry and Mary (Weichman) Hamik. She was the second of three children. She attended rural grade school through the 8th grade and then worked on the family farm.

In 1945, she married Albert "Bud" Krobot, and they settled on the Krobot Homestead southwest of Stuart. The farm consisted of hay meadows and pastureland on which beef cattle were raised. She helped with the farm chores as they raised their three children, Charles, Mary Ellen, and Jim. In 1995, the Krobot family was recognized as one the "Nebraska Pioneer Farm Families" whose land has been owned by the same Nebraska family for 100 years or more. In 1979, Bud and Agnes built a home northeast of Stuart where they lived until moving in October 2011 to Parkside Manor.

Agnes was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church for over 70 years, and she was an active member of the Christian Mothers for many of those years. She was also a member of the Green Valley Extension Club. Over the years, Agnes loved tending to her large vegetable and flower gardens. She was an excellent cook and particularly loved to bake. She also made beautiful afghans and quilts, many of which she donated to the community or the church for various raffles and projects. Agnes also loved fishing and playing cards with family and friends.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years, Albert "Bud", son Charles Krobot, great granddaughter Emily Girard, sister Catherine Mlinar, and brother Eugene Hamik.

She is survived by her son James Krobot and his wife Marilyn of Stuart, a daughter Mary Ellen Key and her husband Elwin of Ararat, NC, daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Krobot of Omaha, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
