Funeral services for Agnes Avery Lyles, 72, will be held Thursday, October 30, at 4:00 at Norton Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Michael Madaris will officiate. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service.
Mrs. Lyles, passed away peacefully with her family and furry friends by her side, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born in York County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Eugene and Caroline Hipp Avery. She retired from the Darlington County School District, where she dedicated many years of service. Her peers and students always had a special place in her heart
Surviving are her companion, Gary Jernigan of Hartsville, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Tripp and Barbie Lyles of Hartsville, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Avery Lyles and Morgan Meggs of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Harleigh Lyles (Amaurion), Isabella Lyles and Aubrey Lyles of Hartsville, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Clinton Lyles Jr., and her father and mother-in-law Charles Clinton Lyles Sr. and Rosene Winburn Lyles.
The family request in honor and memory of Agnes please be comfortable wearing casual clothes to her services of remembrance.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Crescent Hospice of Hartsville for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ City of Refuge or Crescent Hospice
