Maggie Valley, Agnes Cogdill Moody, age 91, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Lovingly named "Granny Bob" by her grandchildren, she was a native of Spring Creek in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Jesse and Lavada Cogdill. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband, Donald Moody, who passed away in 2008; two sisters, Mary Alice Nelson and Ethel Matney; and brother, James Cogdill.
Agnes is survived by four sons, George (Cathy) of Mooresville, NC, Lloyd (Rebecca) of Colorado Springs, CO, Floyd (Debbie) of Wichita, KS, E.J. (Beth) of Waynesville, NC; daughter, Adonna (David) Wayman of Waynesville, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are six grandsons, three granddaughters, ten great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Smith; two brothers, Phil (Doris) Cogdill and Robert (Mary) Cogdill; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Barry Willett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
The care of Mrs. Moody has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville and an online memorial register is available at "Obituaries" at www.wellsfuneralhome.com.
