Agnes Sapp Obituary
Agnes Diane Sapp, 91, passed away peacefully December 6th with her loving daughter by her side. Agnes was born June 9th, 1932 to Joseph and Helen Matovcik in Mount Hope, New Jersey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Matovcik, husband, Edward Sapp, sister Helen DeMatteo, and daughter-in-law Cindy Sapp. She is survived by her children Edward Sapp (Daria Sapp) of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, Stephanie Walkowski (Dr. Edward Walkowski) of North Abington Township, Pennsylvania, and Jason Sapp of Elberfield, Indiana, her grandchildren Dr. Brian Walkowski of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Heather Coombs (Brian Coombs) of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, and Justin Sapp of Hoboken, New Jersey, her great-grandchildren Hailey and Tyler Coombs of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, her sisters Elizabeth Matovcik of Whiting, New Jersey, Sophie DeHaas of Kenvil, New Jersey, Mary Hudson of Middleburg, Florida, and Emma Barry of Ocala, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
She married the love of her life, Edward Sapp, and the couple spent 52 of their 61 wonderful years together in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Agnes dedicated her life to her family, faith, and all those around her. She was the backbone of the emergency department at South Amboy Memorial Hospital where she worked as a technician for 23 years. She was also a dedicated parishioner of Saint Ambrose Church. Her family and friends brought her the greatest joy and she loved every moment of life, living it to the absolute fullest. Her greatest memories were spent with those she loved at her mountain house in the Poconos and beach house on Long Beach Island.
She was an avid reader, devoted New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed puzzles, trips to the casino, raking leaves, taking walks, and striking up a conversation with everyone she met.
She will be remembered as a spirited, energetic, dedicated, faithful, outgoing woman with the ability to light up any room. She was a shining example of how life is meant to be lived and she will leave a lasting impact on those who knew her. She will be forever missed and she would hope that those she touched would continue to carry on her compassion and love towards life, family, and faith.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday December 13th at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton, followed by a funeral service at 11am.
