Matthew Chirip Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bermingham Funeral Home, Inc. - Wharton on Feb. 4, 2026.
Matthew Chirip, 39, of Randolph, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2026. Though his time here was far too short, Matthew filled his life with laughter, loyalty, and love that will be felt forever by those who knew him.

Born on October 30, 1986, in Dover, New Jersey, Matthew was the kind of person everyone wanted in their corner. He was a devoted friend, always ready to help, show up, or make someone laugh-usually with a perfectly timed sarcastic comment and his unmistakable grin. Sundays often found Matthew surrounded by friends and family, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, win or lose, always with passion and heart.

Matthew had an adventurous spirit and an infectious laugh, but what defined him most was his deep kindness. He was a proud and loving uncle who shared a special bond with his nieces and nephew.

Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Paul and Patrice Chirip; his sister, Nicole; his nieces, Mia, Emma, and Sara; his nephew, Jacob; his brother, Jason; his beloved dog Sammy and many dear friends who became family. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, and laughter that will continue to be shared and cherished.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leap in the Lake, a fundraiser Matthew proudly and repeatedly participated in, supporting children with special needs-a cause close to his heart. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Matthew's life at a Memorial Service on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Bermingham Funeral Home, located at 216 South Main Street, Wharton, New Jersey.

A celebration of Matthew's life will follow on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:30–3:30 p.m. at the Irish American Association of Northwest Jersey in Rockaway, NJ where loved ones will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories in the way Matthew would have wanted.

Matthew will be deeply missed by all who knew him-forever remembered for his spirit, his kindness, and the love he shared so freely. He will always be carried in our hearts.
