Agnes Sell

EAST LIVERPOOL – Agnes Ruth Sell, 95, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at CrossRoads Assisted Living following a lengthy illness.

Agnes was born in Carrollton, Ohio, January 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Theodore and Ruth (Beckley) Sell. She was a resident of this area all her life and was a 1948 graduate of the East Liverpool High School. Agnes worked as a clerk and claims supervisor for the Ohio Office of Employment in East Liverpool at one time. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was a Bible study leader and worked as the church secretary at one time. Agnes liked to play cards with her friends and loved her cats.

Agnes was preceded in death by her son Paul Hood.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cathy Hood of Columbus; three grandchildren Christina Douglas and her husband Michael, Alex Hiser, and Daniel Hiser; sister Mary Margaret Sell of East Liverpool and brother Thomas Sell of Nebraska.

Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 12 to 2 p.m. where Rev. Eric M. Edwards of St. John Lutheran Church will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday. Private burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
