I just saw where Agnew passed and am so sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed seeing him when I worked at Athens First at Beechwood. He had a smile for everyone that I know you are missing this holiday season. May God give you comfort and peace.

I first met Agnew when I was a little boy working with my grandfather, Mr. Ben Burkhalter. We did all of the hardwood floors for all of Agnews homes. I thought the world of Agnew, he was one of a kind and he sure thought the world of me and my family. He was a practical joker, and he got me real good one time with a cooler he had rigged up with a rubber snake that would move when you raised the lid. Scared me to death, and all the guys laughed, but Agnew laughed the loudest! What a great Christian man, so influential, and a testament of how a man should conduct himself in the place of business! I would believe he was the same man on the job as he was in the other parts of his life. God speed Agnew, wish I could've paid my respects today; its funny, i was telling my mom last night about that joke and she sent me the obituary this morning...I hope your family knows that you are in such a perfect, wonderful, heavenly place now, far from this lost world. I'll bet with any luck, you, pop, and Charlie are up there laughing and enjoying a long deserved lifetime of rest, peace, and everlasting love with the Lord. Tell them all up there that we miss them and love them, esp my papa.

I am so sad to hear of Agnew's passing. I will miss our crossing thoughts, his gentle nature but most of all the twinkle in his eye and his laugh. My prayers are with the family. Sissy Erwin

Agnew was one of the finest gentlemen I've ever know . He was also one of the hardest working men ,I've ever met . I knew him long before I went to work at Georgia Power. He and my father were good friends. Every one of my relatives who knew Agnew, always thought the world of him ,and always spoke highly of him . I got to know him quite well after I went to work here , we always picked at one another and joked around . He was an awesome man and will be missed by everyone who ever knew him .
